New Delhi, March 11: The election results of the five state assemblies have endorsed the development policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that gave a new direction to the country’s politics, asserted Amit Shah, BJP President
Addressing a press conference at the BJP HQ here after the results of the five state assemblies, Amit Shah on Saturday said, “This historic mandate will take the politics of the country in a new direction.”
He said that the election results in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand are unprecedented for the party, while those in Manipur and Goa also went in favour of the party. He also congratulated the people of Punjab for participating in the election process.
Asserting that the BJP would be forming governments in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa, Amit Shah congratulated the people of the five states for endorsing their faith in the democratic system by participating in the process of election.
While the party secured more than two-thirds majority in UP and Uttarakhand, it is most likely to form the governments in Manipur and Goa, asserted Amit Shah.
Stating that this is the victory of the magnetic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and thousands of dedicated and committed BJP party activists, the BJP President said that the people have voted in favour of the policies of the Narendra Modi government centred around the development of all.
The decisions of the Modi government such as demonetization, Ujjwala Yojana, Jan-Dhan yojana, and Gramjyoti yojana to ensure electricity supply to the villages, were approved by the people, said Shah.
He said that the poor and Dalit voters have reposed their faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi through this historic mandate.
Describing this as the first largest mandate after independence, Amit Shah said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emerged as the most popular leader in the country after independence.
Commenting on the campaign, he said that personal comments were passed during the campaign against Prime Minister Modi but the voters have rejected the age-old concepts of casteism, nepotism, and appeasement and voted for the single point agenda of development adopted by Modi.
“The voters have preferred the politics of performance”, Shah said adding that they have voted with positivity in their mind ensuring the beginning of a new era of development. This mandate has increased the responsibility of the party, Shah said adding “we accept this responsibility with all humility”.
Amit Shah exuded confidence that this election will take the state of Uttar Pradesh to a new height of development. The country would progress only when the state of UP progresses, he said.
When asked about the hung situation in Manipur and Goa, he said: “we are going to form governments in both the states”.
He said that the Prime Minister will be participating in a program at Party Headquarters on Sunday and that same evening the meeting of the parliamentary board will be held to analyse the election results.
