Panaji, Mar 15: Newly appointed Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will be presenting his maiden budget in Goa Legislative Assembly on March 24 after assuming the office of chief minister.
Speaking to the media after marathon meetings Parrikar informed that after the completion of floor test the final decision will taken on portfolio allocation.BJP’s legislator Siddharth Kuncolienkar has been appointed as the pro-tem Speaker for the session.
On March 23, Governor Mrudula Sinha will address the Assembly, he informed. Parrikar further stated that the budget for the year 2017-18 will be presented on March 24.
Briefing about the forthcoming budget Parrikar said, "We have very less time but still we will manage, the budget would "indicate the mind of the BJP-led alliance government.” He also mentioned that the state will assess the impact of GST on the state of Goa.
While commenting of the budget priorities Parrikar underlined that his government work towards the stabilisation of state economy. He further added that he would consult the alliance partners while preparing the budget.
