New Delhi, March 16 : Reacting to the charges of tampering levelled by the political parties like BSP and AAP, Election Commission of India said that there is no merit in the claims that EVMs can be tampered with.
In an official statement Commission refuted all the allegations and media reports about the manipulation of electronic voting machines. “So far, no one could demonstrate that EVMs used by us can be tampered with or manipulated," said the Commission in a statement.
Appreciating the quality and performance of the EVM Commission mentioned that the institution will take all the necessary step if any specific allegation with material facts is presented. Earlier leader like BSP chief Mayawati and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejariwal had raised the question about the functioning of EVM.
