Abu Dhabi, March 19: While addressing the inaugural address of Global Millennium Summit in Dubai Sports Minister Vijay Goel praised the role and dynamism of today’s youth who he said, “is full of spark and they have written their fate themselves”.
Minister Goel further stated that empowering the youth of the country to achieve their full potential, and enabling India through them to find its rightful place in the community of nations is the vision of the National Youth Policy of the government. The Minister said that India and the United Arab Emirates, UAE, enjoy strong bonds of friendship based on age-old cultural, religious and economic ties between the two nations.
The Minister also said such Summits are necessary to create an international perspective in the youth and for promoting the exchange of ideas, values and culture amongst the youth of the countries and also to develop International understanding.
Talking about National Youth Policy, he said it has been launched in 2014 replacing the erstwhile National Youth Policy, 2003. It proposes a holistic ‘vision’ for the youth of India, which is to empower the youth of the country to achieve their full potential, and through them enable India to find its rightful place in the community of nations. Minister Goel further said that from this Year a number of schemes for the youth have been assimilated by the Ministry under an umbrella scheme of Rashtriya Yuva Sashaktikaran Karyakram.
Notably, the two-day Global Millennium Summit organized by the Shri Ram College of Commerce kicked off in Dubai on Saturday. The theme of the summit is 'Future of this Millennium' and it will consist of panel discussions, workshops, competitions and keynote speaker sessions centered around the theme.
Importantly, the Global Millennium Summit is the first-of-its-kind initiative taken by students of Shri Ram College of Commerce, the University of Delhi in association with the Office of International Programmes, SRCC. The Summit aims to provide the youth across the world with a platform to discuss, act and interact. The Summit will see students from the world’s leading universities and notable leaders from the fields of governance, business, technology and academia.
Such Summits are very much necessary to create an International perspective in the youth and for promoting the exchange of ideas, values and culture amongst the youth of the countries and also to develop International understanding.
