Jaipur, March 19: Rural Development Minister Rajendra Rathore said that Rajasthan informed that over four crores of tourists visited Rajasthan in 2016 which has led to the enormous growth of the economy of a state. He said in the year 2015 and 2016, the inflow of tourists has also increased prominently.
Replying to a question on Saturday during the Question Hour, Minister Rathore said Rajasthan has also recorded the increase of 17.93 percent and 2.60 percent in the inflow of domestic and foreign tourists, respectively in two years.
Minister Rathore further said, barring Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan is ahead from other neighbouring states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab in terms of the arrival of tourists.” Rathore also informed the House that the state government was working on improving intra-state air connectivity to boost tourism and the tourist's spots are well connected by road and rail.
Minister Rathore also stated that Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has increased the budget of the tourism department by 22.37 percent in the state budget 2017-18. Notably, “As per the reports of the government of India in 2015, Rajasthan ranked 6th in the country for the number of tourists.
However, according to the latest reports of a government of India, a nation has registered a prominent growth in the tourism sector by Foreign Tourist Arrivals which has also led to the growth of the economy. More of foreign tourists are attracted towards India due to several prominent policies.
