New Delhi, March 2: Indian Navy has successfully conducted the maiden firing of an Anti-Ship missile from first of the indigenously built Kalvari class submarines, during test firing in the Arabian Sea.
According to reports, the missile hit a surface target at extended ranges successfully. This development is expected to enhance Indian Navy’s sub-surface war capability.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the nation’s defence scientists for the successful testing of missile. He expressed his pride taking to twitter to convey that “India joins a selective group of five nations with such capability.”
In India, all six Kalvari class submarines will be equipped with an Anti-Ship missile, which also has been a proven record in combat.
