Panaji, March 20 : After winning the important floor test ahead of the crucial budget session in the state, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has announced the much awaited portfolio allocations for his council of ministers.
Following the same trend of BJP Chief Ministers Parrikar will be heading the key portfolio of Home along with the Finance ministry. He will also look after the ministries like Personnel, General Administration Department, Vigilance and Transport.
Prominent BJP leader Francis D'Souza has been chosen for the Urban Development department where Pandurang Madkaikar will be the Power Minister of the State.
Lawmakers from Goa Forward Party Vijai Sardesai got town and Country, Vinod Paliencar will look after the Water Resource Department and Jayesh Salgaokar has been assigned the duty of Housing and Housing Board.
Independent legislators Rohan Khaunte and Govind Gawde have been allotted the Revenue, and Art and Culture ministries respectively. Sudin Dhavalikar of has given the responsibility of Public Works Department and Manohar Azgaonkar will be heading the most important Tourism ministry.
Manohar Parrikar took charge as the Chief Minister of Goa on March 14 and won the trust vote of March 16. He will present the budget for the financial year 2017-18 on March 24.
