Coimbatore, Mar 20: The Trinamool Congress Government in West Bengal has turned a deaf ear to the violent attacks by the jihadi elements against Hindus in the state.
Instead of taking punitive action, the TMC government was busy pampering them for the sake of vote bank, alleged the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Addressing a press conference on the sidelines of the ongoing Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) RSS Sah-Sarkaryawah Bhagaiah accused the Trinamool Congress government of Mamta Banerjee of appeasing Islamic fundamentalists and jihadis, who are targeting the Hindus in the state.
Bhagaiah said that the RSS would urge the Centre to direct the State government to end its support to those involved in “attacks, loot and murder” of innocent people. He said that West Bengal is a border state with 26 percent Muslim population. In pampering the Muslim vote bank, the TMC government was supporting the Muslim fundamentalists, he alleged. “This might pose a grave threat to the national security and endanger the interests of the society”, he added.
He further indicated that the ABPS would pass a resolution concerning the volatile situation in West Bengal urging the Centre to put pressure on the West Bengal government to take action against the attacks by the jihadis. Now, Hindu society, writers, intellectuals and the general public are working to change this situation,” said Bhagaiah.
Making a mention of attacks by the jihadi elements against the Hindus in West Bengal, he said that the hooligans burnt nearly 200 houses in a village near Kolkata only because they belonged to Hindus. During the Id-e-Milad-un-Nabi they forced the closure of all the government schools and did not allow Durga Puja to be celebrated. This has terrified the Hindu society as the police also remained mute spectators to such incidents.
Responding to questions on alleged attacks on RSS workers in Kerala, he said, “Since 1948, CPM goons have been attacking RSS workers. They are not the only ones being attacked. So far, 40 workers of the Congress and 16 of the CPI have been murdered by CPM men in Kerala,” he said.
To a question on the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Bhagaiah hoped the construction would take place naturally.
RSS lauds surgical strike: The RSS in its annual report presented at the ABPS congratulated the soldiers and officers of Indian Army who participated in the surgical strike launched against terror launch pads in Pakistan.
“The Central government has shown its strong willpower and also successfully turned the global opinion against Pakistan, resulting in the cancellation of SAARC conference to be held in Islamabad,” the 32-page report said.
The report also lauded the Centre’s demonetisation. “We have witnessed a different India after this move,” it added.
The report also congratulated the ISRO scientists in the back for launching 104 satellites in one go.
Growing response to RSS: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has succeeded in spreading its work and attracting youth towards its mission throughout the country, said RSS Sah-Sarkaryawah Bhagaiah.
Over one lakh youth have participated in Prathamik Shiksha Varg held last year in addition to 17500 trainees attending the 20-day first year summer training camps; 4130 in second year training camps and 973 swayamsevaks in the third year training camp held at RSS headquarters in Nagpur.
The number of shakhas (daily congregations) has also increased considerably. At present, there are 57233 daily shakhas, 14896 Weekly Milans and 8226 monthly gatherings called ‘Sangh Mandlis’ are being conducted throughout the country. Seva Karyas run by swayamsevaks at 19121 seva bastis.
