Himachal Pradesh, 20 March 2017: After a long year’s gap, India witnessed the notable association of Indian Army and Royal Army of Oman again yesterday at Bakloh in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. Interestingly, India and Oman share cordial relations in the Defence sector and hence, the two big Armies had a 14-day Joint-Training exercise under the presence of the senior officers from both the countries.
Major General of the Indian Army, Naveen Kumar Airy proudly declared, “The exercise demonstrates the determination of both the Armies to eradicate terrorism. It is an evolving milestone in defence co-operation and military relations between the two countries. “
This kind of an exercise was last conducted in 2015, when in the Joint-Army exercise, 120 contingents from the 9th Gorkha regiment of Indian Army and Infantry regiment of Oman Army participated together. The main emphasis of this exercise was given on counter-terrorism techniques and forest warfare. Both the nations then, appreciated the activity with instilling confidence in each other’s capability.
