Washington, March 30: US President Donald Trump is face of the news for all the wrong reasons again. This time he was targeted by European Union President, Jean Claude Juncker himself. The exit of United Kingdom from EU has shaken the world. Following Brexit, Trump wished to see Britain engaged with Europe as said by his spokesperson, Sean Spicer.
Britain’s Prime Minister Theresa May signed the Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty yesterday for Britain’s exit from the continent, Europe.
To this event, President’s Spokesperson, Sean Spicer said, “Whatever the future EU-UK relationship looks like, we want Britain to remain a strong leader in Europe.” This statement came soon after the British government notified the EU.
To which, Juncker suggested that Trump knows little about Europe. And soon, the White House Press Secretary did not take much time to comment on this and said, “I think the President is very well steeped in world affairs, especially Europe, NATO, all of the issues. He was a leader in the effort to call Brexit.”
Juncker also complained last week about the Trump’s enthusiasm for Brexit and his public speculation that others among the 27 remaining EU member-states would follow London’s example and leave the bloc.
