New Delhi, March 31: Over 14.77 lakh consumers and merchants have won the prizes worth Rs. 226.5 crores at 24 Digi-Dhan Melas across the country since 25th December last year till 30th March this year. Notably, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Delhi have emerged as the top five states/ Union Territory(s) with a maximum number of winners.
The prize money worth Rs. 176.5 crore to over 14 lakh winners of NITI Aayogs’s lucky draw schemes ‘Lucky Grahak Yojana’, (LGY) for consumers and ‘Digi-Dhan Vyapar Yojana’, (DVY) for merchants has been declared at 24 Digi-Dhan Melas across the country – daily as well as weekly.

Among the 14.77 lakh winners are more than 14 lakh consumers have won Rs.1000 each under the Lucky Grahak Yojana- Daily scheme and 77,000 merchants have been declared winners under the Digi dhan Vyapar Yojana-Daily scheme. The winners have been from various walks of life cutting across the barriers of age, sex and economic status

As part of the Government initiative in popularizing Digital Payments, DigiDhan Melas are being organized in 100 cities over a period of 100 days. Over 5000 financial institutions have reached 15 lakh citizens through the Melas and at least 16,000 government and private institutions have been declared cashless. The 100 days of the DigiDhan Melas will end with the Mega Draw on April 14th. Melas are planned for Gangtok, Imphal, Haridwar, Nellore among others for the remaining 10 days.

Since demonetization, there has been a phenomenal 584 percent increase in transactions made through the UPI. In this same period, payments using Adhaar have also seen an unprecedented jump of 1352 per cent (0.7 to 2.7 million). Also, the BHIM App, the UPI payment App launched by the Prime Minister on 30th December 2016, has been downloaded a record 18 million times since its launch.

Besides, there has been an increase of nearly 13 percent in the number of PoS machines sold since October 2016 indicating that more number of merchants across the country are willingly accepting digital payments. Today around 8 billion transactions take place annually through digital payment methods. The Government is planning to increase this to 25 billion transactions in the current year to bring an end to the shadow economy by reducing black money flowing into the system.

Embeded ObjectNotably, NITI Aayog launched two schemes on December 25, 2016 - Lucky Grahak Yojana (LGY) for consumers and Digi-DhanVyaparYojana (DVY) for merchants to incentivize them and promote digital payments. The two schemes shall remain open until April 14, 2017. There are 15,000 daily winners qualifying for total prize money of Rs. 1.5 crore every day. In addition to this, there are over 14,000 weekly winners qualifying for total prize money of over Rs. 8.3 crores every week. Customers and merchants using RuPay Card, BHIM / UPI (Bharat Interface for Money / Unified Payments Interface), USSD based *99# service and Aadhaar Enabled Payment Service (AePS) are eligible for wining daily and weekly lucky draw prizes.

The highlights of the Schemes are as follows-

·         All transactions done by consumers and merchants from November 9, 2016, until April 14, 2017, will be eligible for winning a prize under the scheme.

·         All such transactions irrespective of the fact whether it has won daily / weekly prize will be eligible for Mega Draw to be conducted on April 14, 2017.

·         Three Mega prizes for consumers worth Rs. 1 crore, Rs 50 lakh and Rs 25 lakh.

·         For merchants too, there would be three mega prizes worth Rs. 50 lakh, Rs. 25 lakh and Rs. 12 lakh.

 ·         The draw of winners are presented at different centres on each day by the senior officials of NPCI in the presence of senior minister from GoI, representatives of NITI Aayog and the general public.

 ·         Schemes have a total outlay of Rs. 340 crore of which - Rs. 300 crores would be spent on consumers and merchants while the remaining Rs. 40 crore on awareness and publicity.

 ·         Total winners under the scheme are expected to be over 18.75 lakh.

The move is a part of the ongoing efforts of the Government to create an ecosystem which provides incentives for digital transactions.

Here’s how to check if you are a winner of Lucky Grahak Yojana or Digi Dhan Vyapar Yojana

Log on to HTTP: digidhanlucky.mygov.in

You will see a window with the green background. In the middle-right, you will see an option “Check If you are winner”

Click on the Consumer button if you are a buyer

Click on the Merchant button if you are a seller.

Enter Registered Mobile No: ( )

You will get an OTP. After this, you have to enter the OTP

You will receive an OTP at your mobile number, after entering the OTP you will be asked the 16 digit code of your Rupay card

After entering the due details, you will see the status and get to know if you won the prize or not.
