Washington, March 5: The 39-yr old Sikh man in the US has been shot at by an unidentified person. The attacker allegedly shouted ‘go back to your own country’ and shot the victim, outside his home in Kent. Police have launched an investigation to trace the accused. The incident comes close on the heels of the shooting in Kansas.The sources further said, Consulate General of India in Atlanta is in touch with the family. Indian Consulate has deputed a consular official to meet the family and offer condolences and any required assistance.
Local media reports that the Sikh man was working on his vehicle outside his home in the city of Kent on Friday when he was approached by a stranger, who walked up to the driveway.
Kent police said an argument broke out between the two men, with the victim saying the suspect made statements to the effect of "go back to your own country. The unidentified man then shot him in the arm."We're early on in our investigation," Thomas said. Kent Police Commander Jarod Kasner said the incident is getting attention from the Sikh community and others.
