Shimla, March 6: In order to strengthen Indo-Oman relations, troops of Indian and Royal Army of Oman are presently engaging in a fourteen days joint exercise ‘AL NAGAH-II’ in Himachal Pradesh. The training contingents comprised of platoon strength troops from both the Armies.India Defense Spokesperson Lt Col Manish Mehta said that the second edition of the Joint Exercise is in continuation of a series of joint Exercises between the Indian Army and the Royal Army of Oman. Senior military observers of both the countries will be witnessing the validation phase of the Exercise.

The aim of the Joint Exercise is to acquaint both forces with each other’s operating procedures in the backdrop of counter insurgency, counter terrorism environment as also to enhance the existing military relationship between the Indian Army and the Royal Army of Oman, said Lieutenant colonel.

The exercise will also enhance the interoperability between both the Armies in conducting joint operations and cement bonds of friendship between the two countries, he added.

Meanwhile the previous edition of the Exercise was held at Muscat, Oman in 2015. The Oman Army contingent landed at Adampur Air Base on 04 March 2017.
