Jaipur, March 6: Acche din for the women in Rajasthan, as it becomes the first state of India to have all-women staff police station. The main objective of state government to setup such police station is to provide a place for female victims where they can share their grievances without any difficulty.
Notably, this is a very important and concrete initiative taken by the state government in order to protect the dignity of women and also to empowering them. In this police station, at least 22 police personnel have been deployed and each of them is a woman right from police constable to Station House Officer (SHO).
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Kunwar Rastradeep said, “When a woman comes to file a complaint, there is a stigma in her mind whether a male police officer would understand her problem or he would, in turn, blame her. Here we are trying that each and every staff is a woman and therefore those women coming to file a complaint will feel comfortable.”
He further said that women barracks are being constructed along with creches for their children. “I believe this would be the first police station where each and every staff will be a woman,” Rastradeep said. However, the police station would be formally opened on March 8, International Women’s Day.
Such bold and positive step from Rajasthan government will boost the confidence of girls and women which will further lead to their empowerment. Working effectively on PM Modi’s belief “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao”, Rajasthan government has put a step forward through which the girls and women will be promoted socially and also will get the enormous strength to fight against the evil system of the society.
