Somnath, March 8 : Starting his second day from the Gir-Somnath district Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the historic Somnath temple and participated in the special pooja organised by Somnath trust.
Modi, who is one of the trustees of the Somnath temple performed 'Jalabhishek' and paid homage to the lord Somnath. On this occasion former chief minister and Senior BJP leader Keshubhai Patel who is heading the trust of Somnath temple, BJP national president Amit Shah and senior leader L K Adwani were present.
This was the first visit of Narendra Modi after becoming Prime Minister. On February 1, 2014 Modi visited the temple when he was holding the post of Chief Minister of Gujarat and Prime Ministerial candidate of BJP.
After performing the pooja for more than 15 minutes PM Modi attended the annual meeting of Somnath trust along with keshubhai Patel and Amit Shah.
During his short visit to Somnath Modi addressed the small public meeting at Diu where he was felicitated by local officer bearers of BJP.
