New Delhi, March 9: At times when you are supposed to reach to a new place for your interview before the time, it happens that we get lost in a new place. Despite following the instructions on the navigations, you don’t make it to the place before time. Hold on, MapmyIndia brings you to your perfect location without confusing you.
MapmyIndia, Indian digital cartography reader launched – eLoc. It is India’s first nationwide digital address which can help you identify any building, flat, office, business, city, village, locality, road or a combination. eLoc is like Aadhar number or a 6 digit code which acts as a substitute for an address which will help travellers and commuters to search and locate the exact destination they are heading for. eLoc will help Indian travellers and commuters search, share and navigate to destinations’ exact doorstep far more easily and quickly. It will also reduce time, money and fuel wastage and expenses for businesses in the e-commerce, transportation, logistics and field operations domains.
How does it work?
Rohan Verma, CTO, MapmyIndia said the company has invested Rs 200 crores in this venture and helped create 2 crore eLoc codes for free, as a public service. Flipkart, Avis, Airtel, OLX among others have embedded eLoc into their logistics. As it becomes more ubiquitous, and crowdsourced, as more map services embed eLoc, we can, each us, stake a spot on the map of India and reduce our address to six characters!
MapmyIndia have got very positive reactions from the customers as they took it to the social media platform - Twitter to give feedback on this service.
