Indore, April 11: Kings XI Punjab registered a dominating win against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their 2017 Indian Premier League encounter at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. Notably, Kings XI Punjab defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 wickets and achieved the target of 149 runs easily.
Hashim Amla slammed his second IPL fifty while skipper Glenn Maxwell made an unbeaten 43 to guide Kings XI Punjab to an 8-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore. For Punjab, Varun Aaron took two wickets while Sandeep Sharma and Axar Patel claimed one each to put pressure on the visitors.
Earlier, winning the toss RCB opted to bat first, but lost three wickets in the start of the game but AB De Villiers’ 46-ball-89 took Royal Challengers Bangalore to 148/4 in 20 overs. Skipper Shane Watson blamed himself for Royal Challenger Bangalore's humiliating defeat against King XI Punjab.
"I didn't start well with the bat and I'm certainly to blame, getting out in the first over," Watson said after Punjab overhauled the 149-run target set by RCB in just 14.3 overs with eight wickets in hand. "A few more than 170-180 would have been nice. AB was incredible as he always is and it would have been nice if we had supported him," Watson added.
Punjab’s left arm bowler Axar Patel was adjudged as Man of the Match for taking 4 wickets in his four-over spell and conceded only 12 runs.
