Pune, April 12: Delhi Dardevils on Tuesday registered their first victory in the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League. Notably, Delhi Dardevils also dominated their opponent and defeated Rising Pune Supergiant by 97 runs in Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
Chasing the huge target of 206, RPS failed to confront brilliant spells from the veteran Zaheer Khan and leg-spinner Amit Mishra, and were bowled out for 108 in just 16.1 over. Zaheer and Mishra took 3 wickets each.
Earlier, Sanju Samson’s maiden IPL century and a fiery 38 from Chris Morris guided Delhi Daredevils to a massive total of 205 for 4 in stipulated 20 overs. Sanju made 102 in just 63 balls. Sanju Samson was adjudged as Man of the Match.
During the post-match presentation, Ajinkya Rahane said that 180-190 would have been a good total but Sanju Samson batted really well. Thinks that Morris' cameo was very good and that cost them the momentum. He also noted that Zaheer Khan and Amit Mishra bowled very well.
Sanju Samon said, “Very thankful to Rahul Dravid and Paddy Upton for working with me a lot. We had a long training camp and the results are coming through.” Today in the IPL, Mumbai Indians will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The match will begin at 8 p.m.
