Nagpur, April 13 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Nagpur on the historic occasion of 126th birth anniversary of Bharatratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar where he will pay rich tributes to the great thinker at Deekshabhoomi memorial.
In a series of tweets Prime Minister Modi said, “I am extremely honoured to be visiting Nagpur tomorrow, on the very special occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti. In Nagpur, I will pray at Deekshabhoomi, a holy spot that is very closely associated with Dr. Ambedkar.
This is for the first time Prime Minister Modi will be arriving at orange city after the spectacular victory of BJP in 2014 state assembly elections under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who also hails from Nagpur. The Prime Minister will arrive at Nagpur airport on 10.45 am from where he will leave for his scheduled programme.
After paying homage at Deekshabhoomi PM Modi will attend the function at Koradi where he will dedicate serval power projects along with key developmental scheme like IIIT, IIM and AIIMS and Pradhan Mantri Avas Yojan for affordable housing.
Thereafter he will be attending the concluding function of DigiDhan Mela where he will present awards to Mega Draw winners of Lucky Grahak Yojana and DigiDhan Vyapar Yojna. The programme is being organised by NITI aayog where top functionaries of nationalised banks will remain present. The event will take place at Mankapur indoor stadium.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also launch the BHIM-Aadhaar platform for merchants to facilitate digital payments and unveil cash back and referral bonus schemes for the BHIM app.
On this occasion Maharashtra Governor C. vidhyasagar Rao, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union surface transport minister Nitin Gadkari, Guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Mayor Nanda Jichkar will remain present.
