Bhopal, April 13: Madhya Pradesh government preparing an agenda for the welfare of poor. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that 10 lakh houses will be constructed for poor people of the state this year. Also food grains at the rate of One rupees per kilogram is being provided to about 5 crore 50 lakh persons in the state.
While addressing Antyodaya Mela at Damoh Chouhan said that the state government has prepared an agenda for the welfare of poor. CM Chouhan performed bhoomi poojan of construction works worth 355 crore rupees and dedicated development works in Mela. Moreover, Chouhan distributed cheques worth Rs. 19 thousand 426 lakh towards assistance sum to 50 thousand beneficiaries in Antyodaya Mela.
The state government will deposit money in the bank accounts of the eligible beneficiaries. Financial assistance to women self-help groups, 50 percent reservation in panchayats and urban bodies and 50 percent reservation on the posts of teachers are being provided to the women, Singh said.
He further stated that Madhya Pradesh will be made addiction free soon. He appealed to the citizens to quit liquor besides tobacco. Chouhan mentioned that ‘Gramoday Se Bharat Uday’ campaign will be started from April 14 in the state. Gramsabhas will be organised in all the Gram Panchayats headquarters.
Earlier, Shivraj had asked to make rules for Housing Guarantee Act for the poor and people belonging to the lower income group by the end of this month. CM Chouhan issued instructions to prepare a roadmap to provide facility to those eligible for housing facility. He said that the list of eligible beneficiaries in both rural and urban areas should also be prepared in the prescribed time limit.
