Nagpur, April 14: On the occasion of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Nagpur to pay tributes to the legendary Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar on his 126th birth anniversary. To commemorate the memory of the reformer and his contributions, Ambedkar Jayanti or Bhim Jayanti is celebrated every year on April 14.While paying tribute Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted saying that “Ambedkar Jayanti ke pawan awsar par pujya baba saheb ko naman (Tributes to venerable Babasaheb Ambedkar on Ambedkar Jayanti).”
Further Prime Minister Narendra Modi headed towards Deekshabhoomi where he paid tributes on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti. PM Modi headed ahead to the inauguration ceremony of Koradi Thermal Power Station. PM Modi was accompanied by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis; Union ministers Nitin Gadkari, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Prakash Javadekar, Piyush Goyal, Ramdas Athawale, Hansraj Ahir and other leaders in the ceremony.
Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Koradi Thermal Power Station and dedicated the Mahagenco’s 1,980-MW Koradi Thermal Power project to the nation in the presence of Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao. These include three super-critical units 660 MW each at Koradi, two of 500 MW each at Chandrapur and one of 250 MW at Parli.
Also afterwards PM Modi unveiled the postal stamps- one depicting Deekshabhoomi in its full glory and the other with twin pictures of Lord Gautam Buddha and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. The two stamps of five rupees denomination each along with the first-day cover were released.
Further heading to the Mankapur, where another function organised by NITI Aayog at Mankapur Indoor Stadium, PM Modi awarded the prize winners of Lucky Grahak and Digidhan Vyapar Yojana at the 100th final Digidhan Mela. Minister for Law and Justice, Ravi Shankar Prasad took the stage and spoke to the public. Minister Prasad said that “BHIM app has been downloaded over 2 Crore times, 13 Lakh PoS machines have been sold and Rs 2452 Crore worth digital payments have already been carried out in a mere 4 months.” Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis too echoed the ideologies of #DigitalEconomy and took the stage ahead.
PM Narendra Modi launched the #BHIMAadhaar application to enable every single Indian citizen to pay just with their Thumb! No internet, wallet, mobile needed. PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for IIIT, IIM and AIIMS. BHIMAadhaar app was launched for merchants to facilitate digital payments and unveil cash back and referral bonus schemes for the BHIM app.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the public by saluting Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar on his 126th birth anniversary. PM Modi said “I am honored to pay tribute here at Deekshabhoomi. Salute to Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar.” While launching so many projects which are being dedicated to the nation on this occasion I feel honored to launch these projects to dedicate every one of you, PM Modi added.
Highlighting the dreams of independent people of India, Babasaheb Ambedkar brought justice by drafting the Constitution of India which covers the right of every section of society. Personally I Feel despite taking birth to the poor class of society, Ambedkar rose higher due to his dedication and willpower, PM Modi said. Dspite being brought up in discriminated society and faced social discrimination Dr. Ambedkar did not have a trace of bitterness or revenge in him. This was his speciality, PM Modi added.
Unveiling many projects, the main highlight is ‘Energy’ which should be used at optimum to adopt new and sustainable sources. Energy sector is of great vitality in the 21st century, PM Modi said. One of the sectors towards which we are devoting significant effort is the renewable energy sector. Each and every Indian must have his or her own house. And that house must be equipped with electricity, water & other facilities, PM Modi added.
Saluting the acts of valor and sacrifice of bravehearts, PM Modi said that because of our bravehearts we all get a reason to live for our country. Also the dream of shelter for all is one of the important dream where the poorest of poor will have the shelter to live and simultaneously this will help increase the employment opportunities. These projects aim to benefits the youngsters of the nation. PM Modi said that the benefits of the projects inaugurated today will help our youngsters.
Since the dream of ‘Digital India’ is on its way to get high and high, BHIM app boosted the digital transactions after the demonetization move. And hence BHIM app is impacting positively towards the economy of India. BHIM app aims to serve every people in the same way how the Babasaheb Ambedkar strived to serve the justice for every sections of the society. Encouraging the paperless banking PM Modi said that ‘Technology is a revolution’. We are reaching a time when the mobiles phones will be where financial transactions will take place, mobile phones will not only be the wallets but they will be our banks. Now even without mobile phones people can perform transactions just using their thumbs.
This DigiDhan movement is a Safai Abhiyaan. It is to fight the menace of corruption, PM Modi said. #BHIMAadhar will serve as the revolutionary tool and soon there will be the researchers and case studies to adopt the #BHIMAadhar. “New India, New Economy” is the aim of #BHIMAadhar where it will help fight against the corruption and black money.
#BHIMAadhar also welcomes you to be the part of opportunity till 14, October where the youngster need to promote the use of #BHIMAadhar app and tell people to join the revolutionary phase to fight the corruption. Prime Minister urged people to come forward and participate in this revolution and become the soldiers of our economy by promoting and using the user-friendly #BHIMAadhar app. PM Modi thanked everyone present with warm greetings.
