Pentagon, April 14: The US military dropped America’s most powerful non-nuclear bomb by an MC-130 aircraft on ISIS targets. The place is exactly in eastern Afghanistan, close to the Pakistani border. For the first time, US has used such a weapon in a battle.

A GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb (MOAB), known as Mother of All Bombs dropped on a tunnel complex of ISIS-Khorasan at 7.32 p.m. as Pentagon spokesman Adam Stump said.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer said in an official statement, "The United States takes the fight against ISIS very seriously and in order to defeat the group we must deny them operational space, which we did,”. The target has actually targeted a system of tunnels and cave that ISIS fighters use to move around freely.

Last week the fights between US Special Forces and Afghan troops had increased. Afghanistan's ambassador to the US, Hamdullah Mohib has identified this as a reason behind this. ISIS blocked the area with mines and explosives so that US and Afghan forces can’t move. So the bomb was dropped to clear the tunnels for moving forward.

President Trump has not made any statement regarding his personal consent over the strike. "Everybody knows exactly what happens. So, what I do is I authorize our military.” Trump commented. He has clearly announced that they have full authorization on Military’s actions. An official from his administration has said that they don’t want to dictate military strategy from the white house.

Republicans have supported the strike and praised. Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican has commented, "Pleased Air Force dropped MOAB against ISIL in Afghanistan. Must be more aggressive against ISIL everywhere - including Afghanistan."But the democratic have raised their voice against potentially increasing US military involvement in Afghanistan.

Former President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai condemned the dropping of the latest weapon, the largest non-nuclear bomb, on Afghanistan by US military.
