New Delhi, April 14: Soon the drinking water, including Pepsi’s bottled mineral water Aquafina will be sold at the same MRP in India. Earlier Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan had directed that the sale price should be same at airports, hotels and malls.
Speaking to reporters in New Delhi today, Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan informed about water bottles to be sold at same MRPs throughout India. He said that the Board of Control for Cricket in India will ensure that bottled water is sold at same MRP at all of its cricket stadiums.
Minister Paswan said that action can be taken under the law for having dual MRP on any product and consumer courts are already taking action. The Minister said the dual MRP is against the law. Paswan said following the government push, Pepsi has said that it will sell Acquafina mineral water at one price or uniform MRP across the country. He said the Cricket Board has also directed that all bottled water will be sold at the MRP in its cricket stadiums.
