Lucknow, April 15: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday claimed that demonetisation has its roots in the economic thining of Dr. BR Ambedkar. He said the government displayed 'immense political willpower & courage' in demonetising Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. He added that if any democratic country wants to curb black money, it needs to change high-value currencies at regular intervals. The CM yogi was speaking at Digi Dhan Mela in Lucknow.
Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister paid rich tributes to Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar by paying floral tributes at his statue at Hazratganj. Speaking on the occasion, He said the whole country is remembering the architect of Indian Constitution, the great son of India, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.
The entire nation is full of gratitude for Dr. Ambedkar for his contribution towards making of the Indian Constitution, the Chief Minister further said and pointed out how the great son of India strived throughout his life for the dignity and equality of the last man standing, the deprived, downtrodden and the marginalized and made sincere efforts to assimilate them in the nation’s mainstream.
The Chief Minister also said that the State Government was committed to following the footsteps of Dr. Ambedkar in assimilating the poor, downtrodden and the deprived into the mainstream of the society and providing them a life of dignity. By treading the path shown by Baba Saheb, UP too will soon become a front ranking state in the country, the Chief Minister added.
