Himachal registers dominating win over Jammu and Kashmir in Women’s Hockey C’ship

Rohtak, April 18: Himachal registered a dominating over Jammu and Kashmir by 7-2 in the seventh Senior National Women’s Hockey Championship B pool which was played in Rohtak today. Notably, Himachal’s Shivani was outstanding throughout the game and score three goals to led state towards a big win.
In the pool C match, Himachal girls from the very beginning dominated the game. It was Shivani who scored the goal for the team in the 10th minute. Shivani continued her aggression by scoring goals in the 42nd, 54th, and 55th minute. However, Jammu Kashmir could not match the brilliance of Himachal players and faced 7-2 defeat.

In other matches, Bihar defeated Andhra Pradesh 6-0, Rajasthan beat Telangana 15-1 in Pool A. Raju Ranwa (13', 33', 39', 59') and Renu Kanwar (26', 29', 32', 38', 56') both scored hat-tricks in Hockey Rajasthan's win. Telangana Hockey's only goal was scored by Priyanika Rathla in the 53rd minute.

While Steel Plant Sports halted Puducherry in Pool B with a one-way margin of 15-0, Hockey Coorg Kerala defeated Pool F 1-0 by 1-0.  In contrast to Pool G, Uttarakhand beat Gujarat’s team by a huge margin of 16-0.

Earlier, Goans Hockey forfeited their game against Tripura Hockey while Sports Authority of Gujarat - Hockey Academy beat Hockey Bengaluru 5-0.
