New Delhi, April 18 : Coming out as a big jolt for the state unit of congress party ahead of the high stake MCD polls, senior congress leader and former state congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely joined saffron party in the presence of BJP chief Amit Shah.
A prominent Punjabi from the congress party, Lovely also served as minister in the Sheila Dikshit cabinet where he held several important ministries like education, tourism, urban development and transport. According to media reports Lovely was unhappy over the functioning of incumbent Delhi Congress chief Ajay Makan.
Arvinder singh Lovely, a four-time MLA from the Gandhi Nagar Constituency won all the assembly elections from the year 1998. He did not contest the 2015 assembly election when Arvind Kejariwal’s party had swept the delhi Polls.
On this occasion Union Minister Vijay Goel, state unit president Manoj Tiwari, MP from east delhi Maheish Girri were present.
