New York, April 20: The waters around North Korea seems boiling with the repeated war threats by the North Korean leadership are on a rise. Recently the North Korean envoy at the United Nations, accused the United States of creating a war-like situation and warned about a nuclear attack.
On Monday, North Korea's UN deputy representative, Kim In Ryong hastily called for UN press conference at the United Nations where he accused the US of creating a situation where nuclear war could break out any time. In recent decades it can be seen that North Korea has consistently issued threats of war toward the United States (US).
Kim In Ryong who is the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the UN said, “The United States is disturbing the global peace and stability and insisting on the gangster-like logic that its invasion of a sovereign state is decisive and just and proportionate”. "It has created a dangerous situation in which thermonuclear war may break out at any moment on the peninsula and poses a serious threat to world peace and security", he added.
The press conference was held hours after Mike Pence a US Vice President visited the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea where he warned North Korea not to test the resolve of the United States or the strength of their military forces.
Pyongyang’s deputy ambassador to the UN has banged upon Washington’s naval build up in waters off the Korean peninsula and the missile strikes in Syria.
Korea has expressed its readiness to react to any mode of war from the US and any missile or nuclear strike by the US would be responded to in kind.
Worried UN Spokesman Stephane Dujarric said, "We're obviously deeply concerned about the rising tensions that we've seen on the Korean Peninsula. We call on all to redouble their diplomatic efforts”.
