Probe ordered in food poisoning even as 109 jawans remain hospitalised

New Delhi/Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 3: The government has ordered an inquiry into the food poisoning incident that affected as many as 400 CRPF jawans in Kerala on Sunday.

According to news agency ANI, the 400 jawans posted at the camp in Pallipuram in the state capital of Thiruvananthapuram, started vomiting and complained of stomach ache after consuming food on Saturday night.

Among them, 109 jawans are said to be under observation at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.

Health Minister Shylaja visited the hospital and enquired about the status of their health.”The condition of the four was bit serious when they were brought here, but they have quickly responded to the treatment and are improving now”, said the hospital superintendent while talking to IANS.
