New Delhi, April 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Government's approach to poverty alleviation is comprehensive not isolated. Responding to comments in favour of the Ujjwala Yojana on twitter yesterday, Modi said Government's all key schemes are aimed at eliminating poverty.
The Prime Minister said when every Indian goes one step ahead, the nation goes 125 crore steps ahead. He said talented youth will create a new India. Modi said implementation and ground level reach of Ujjwala Yojana is commendable. The Prime Minister said several women, particularly poor women in rural areas have been sharing the transformative impact of Ujjwala Yojana.
Earlier, The Prime Minister Modi has expressed joy, on PM Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries crossing 2 crore in number in less than a year. "Matter of immense joy and pride that the number of beneficiaries of PM Ujjwala Yojana has crossed 2 crore in less than a year!
Ujjwala Yojana is guided by a strong commitment to bring about a qualitative change in the lives of poor women. I congratulate all beneficiaries of Ujjwala Yojana and those who are working round the clock to ensure its success", the Prime Minister said.
Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is an ambitious social welfare scheme of Narendra Modi Government launched on 1st May 2016 from Ballia in Uttar Pradesh. Under the PM Ujjwala Yojana, the government aims to provide LPG connections to BPL households in the country. The scheme is aimed at replacing the unclean cooking fuels mostly used in the rural India with the clean and more efficient LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas).
Ujjwala Yojana is aimed at providing 5 Crore LPG connections in the name of women in BPL (Below Poverty Line) households across the country. The government has set a target of 5 Crore LPG connections to be distributed to the BPL households across the country under the scheme.
