New Delhi, May 10: On the occasion of Buddha Jayanti, Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar highlighted the significance of Indian Education. Planning to Revamp the school curriculum he said that Indian education has to be aimed at the holistic development of personality and not just job and information oriented.
While speaking on occasion on the celebration of Buddha Jayanti, Javadekar said that the Ministry is revamping school curriculum at all levels and in the coming days teachings of Buddha will be incorporated in the new syllabus for overall personality development of students. Also Union Minister of State for Home Affairs of India Kiren Rijiju was present in the event.
Also, Union minister for culture Mahesh Sharma, highlighted the eternal relevance of Teachings of Buddha. He also felicitated S R Bhatt a scholar in Buddhist studies. He also announced that 'End to end tourism' - linking all the Buddhist sites in the country to attract foreign tourists across the world is being contemplated.
