New Delhi, May 16: Good news for all the football lovers and fans in India as the tickets are available from today onwards. Notably, the ticket pricing for FIFA Under-17 World Cup India 2017 has been set at 48 rupees during the first phase of ticket sales.
For the promotions of football in the country and FIFA world cup, Sports Minister Vijay Goel and Spanish World Cup winner Carles Puyol on Monday launched for first FIFA event in the country at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium. The tickets will be available on a first come, first serve basis, and will be exclusively available on FIFA.com. The Official Draw for the tournament will take place on July 7, 2017.
During this event, Minister Vijay Goel said that the government made sure the tickets are priced very nominally. He said people can buy a World Cup ticket for less than fifty rupees, so there is no reason not to come and support this tournament in large numbers. Minister Goel further said that he do not see this tournament as the conclusion, rather it is the start of the next revolution in Indian football.
The Under-17 World Cup will be staged in six cities across India from 6th October. The 24-team tournament will feature an Indian team for the first time in a FIFA event. The matches will be held in six venues, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Guwahati, Goa and Kochi, across 23 days until 28th October.
