Bhubaneswar, May 16: Even though the monsoon has kicked some part of the nation the Odisha is still suffering from intensified heat wave condition. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMT) issued Orange alert on Tuesday and warned that the Odisha to suffer severe heat wave for next few days.
The Bhubaneswar met office predicting the intensification of heat wave conditions in the state issued the alert after the rise in the temperature beyond 45 degrees in five towns and 40 degrees in other 16 places on Monday.
It is predicted that the temperature may increase more breaking the previous record of 47 degrees. Whereas, some parts of Odisha can experience thundershowers.
Observing the Monday’s temperature, Bolangir was recorded as the hottest place with a temperature of 46.2 degree Celsius and with 46 degree Celsius temperature.
Water shortage and power cuts had affected severely to the lives of the people. Around 38 deaths due to sunstroke informed the state Special Relief Commissioner office.
