Jaipur, May 19: Come summer and the RSS - the biggest organization of Hindus in the world - gets on with its regular training camps organized countrywide.
These camps play an important role in building the character and strengthening the commitment of the participating swayamsevaks. In addition to that the participants are also sensitized towards environment, pollution and water conservation.
There are nine such camps currently underway in Rajasthan where water is considered as the most precious commodity. Over 2500 swayamsevaks are participating in these camps and saving 20000 liters of water daily. And this not a fake news!
This was made possible by two novel ideas. The chapatis for the lunch and dinner of the camp inmates are collected from families in the towns where these camps are being conducted. Besides, the swayamsevaks are directed to use clay for cleaning their plates and other utensils instead of water.
Only vegetables and dal are cooked in the camps and 25000 chapatis are collected from the families daily from the day one.
The RSS has divided Rajasthan in three regions viz. Jaipur, Jodhpur and Chittore for organizational convenience. The camps for first year are held regionwise, the second year training camp is combined for the entire state while three different camps are conducted for swayamsevaks interested in band instruments or Ghosh in RSS parlance. Besides, one more camp for senior swayamsevaks is also organized.
The first year training camps are organized at Jaipur, Nagaur, Udaypur and Kekadi; second year training camp at Bharatpur, Ghosh training at Bandikui, Nagaur and Mandalgarh and senior swayamsevak training camp Jodhpur. A total of 2587 swayamsevaks are participating in these camps. Another contingent of 68 swayamsevaks is participating in the trhird year trainikn g camp at Nagpur the HQ of RSS.
Kshetra Prachar Pramukh of RSS Mahendra Singhal said that the intention of collecting chapatis from houses was to establish a continuous relationship of society and swayamsevaks,
The message to save water and protect environment is also being disseminated in the camp by asking them to clean utensils with clay and discard plastic material. With this the swayamsevaks will go to the society with the message to save environment and water.
The summer training camps have a very important role in the system of RSS. The swayamsevaks spent from their pockets to buy the uniform, pay for travelling and fees of the camp etc. The daily schedule of the camp begins at 4 in the morning and continues till 10.30 in the night.
