But few of the Cricket fans know that Indian women Cricket team will head into ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 with good form. The final squad for the world cup has been officially declared yesterday. The Indian team will have their first match with England Women team in Derby on 24th June from 3.00 p.m.
Indian women Cricket team seems confident with their latest success in a Quadrangular Series with South Africa, Ireland, and Zimbabwe. On last Sunday, the team has beaten South Africa in the final. The Indian Cricket team captain Mithali Raj scored 62. With Mithali another opener Punam Raut’s score 70 helped to achieve the win.
After leading India in 2013, Mithali will again lead the Indian team in this season. Harmanpreet Kaur, Mona Meshram, Punam Raut, Jhulan Goswami, Ekta Bisht, Smriti Mandhana, Veda Krishnamurthy, Deepti Sharma, Shikha Pandey, Mansi Joshi, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Nuzhat Parveen- are in the team along with the captain Mithali Raj. Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami will play fourth ICC Women’s World Cup this time.
Recently some players from the Indian Cricket Team made huge world records. Fast Bowler Jhulan Goswami became the record wicket-taker in women’s ODIs with a tally of 185 wickets from 155 ODIs with an average of 21.70. We all are aware of Sachin- Sourav’s record opening partnership of 250. But this time Punam Raut and Deepti Sharma put on a world record 320-run opening partnership, the first 300-run stand by any pair in women's cricket. Hence the team enters the tournament with a confident mood.
