Shivraj Cabinet approves 3 Projects worth Rs 4000 Cr to boost Irrigation facility in MP

Bhopal, May 24: Madhya Pradesh Cabinet under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan gave an administrative sanction to three irrigation projects on Wednesday.

The projects being constructed with an amount of over four thousand crore rupees will facilitate irrigation on more than one lakh hectare land and will provide potable water to twelve lakh populations of 819 villages.

The cabinet has given a revised administrative sanction of Rs. 3735.90 crore for Bina irrigation and Multi-purpose project. The 90 thousand hectare land of 296 villages of Khurai, Malthone and Bina Tahsil of Sagar district will be benefitted by the Rabi irrigation.

Moreover, the potable water to 12 lakh population of 819 villages of Rahatgarh, Jaisinagar, Malthone, Bina, Khurai and Kurwai of Sagar district will be provided from this project.

The cabinet has given an administrative sanction of Rs. 165.08 crore for Anwalia Medium Irrigation Project. The project will facilitate Rabi irrigation on 5 thousand hectare area of 21 villages of Khandwa district.

Similarly, an administrative sanction of Rs. 116.78 crore has been given by the cabinet for Hirwar Micro Irrigation Project. The project will facilitate Rabi irrigation on 7 thousand hectare area of 49 villages of Byohari tahsil of Shahdol district and will facilitate Kharif Irrigation on 3100 hectare area.

Furthermore the cabinet has decided to change the name of Adim Jati Kalyan Vibhag to Janjati Karya Vibhag. The cabinet while re-fixing the salaries of 94 employees of Narmada Valley Development department has given sanction for payment with arrears.

The cabinet has taken a decision for creation of 6 posts for Examination Cell of High Court Jabalpur and 17 posts of various cadre for Madhya Pradesh State Judicial Academy-Jabalpur.

The cabinet has given approval for amendment in Madhya Pradesh Police Karmchari Varg-Asadharan Pariwar Pension Niyam 1965. This will help providing benefit of dearness allowance sanctioned for government employees from time to time to the families of martyr police employees in the same ratio. As a result, there will be a constant increase in the economic facility being provided to such families payable at present.

Moreover, the cabinet has decided to give additional allowance on being given additional charge to the government employees. Additional allowance at the rate of Rs. 500 and Rs. 300 per month will be given to grade 3 and 4 employees of field offices respectively on being given additional charge on sanctioned vacant post in nearby areas.
