Bhubaneswar, May 24: While the ‘Sachin, Sachin’ wave is on, the movie ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ is yet to release but Odisha government has made the Cricket Legend and Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar’s biopic ‘tax-free’, declared by Finance Minister Sashibhusan Behera.
”Sachin: A Billion Dreams” is based on the life of the cricketer and it is scheduled to release on May 26. The movie, a biographical drama, captures Tendulkar’s personal journey from a young boy to a cricketing icon. It is written and directed by James Erskine and produced by Ravi Bhagchandka and Carnival Motion Pictures under 200 NotOut.
Being an icon of inspiration for the youth the government decided to waive off the entertainment tax on the movie which captures the cricketer’s journey.“The movie which has been made on the cricketer’s life has been made entertainment tax-free. It’s definitely good news for the youth,” said Sashibhushan.
Apart from Sachin, his wife Anjali, son Arjun and daughter Sarah, the movie also features cricketers Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virender Sehwag among others. This biopic is certainly going to hit the box-office with heaviest earnings ever as ‘Sachin’ is not just a name – It has become the belief, hope, emotion to the whole world.
