Agra, May 24: Around 13 exhibitors that promoted ozone and climate-friendly alternative technologies to Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) and Hydro fluorocarbons (HFCs) in the refrigeration and air-conditioning (RAC) sector at the ‘Ozone2Climate Technology Roadshow’ organized in Agra on Tuesday.
The roadshow was organized by Environment Ministry along with the UN Environment OzonAction’s Compliance Assistance Programme. The roadshow was inaugurated by the secretary of Environment Ministry, Ajay Jha by sidelining South Asia National Ozone Officers Annual Network Meeting 2017. The Technology Roadshow was organized for the first time as part of the annual network meeting for Ozone Officers of South Asia.
The Technology Roadshow showcased current refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) equipment designed to be more energy efficient, hence with a double benefit of saving money for consumers, and with a much lower impact on the environment.

The main aim of the meeting was to focus on current policy and technology updates on ozone and climate friendly alternatives to HCFCs and HFCs specifically post-Kigali amendment, linking the HCFC phase out to future HFC phase-down, the implications of Kigali amendment for the network countries and challenges and opportunities from a policy and technology perspective.
UN Environment along with the Technology Roadshow also organizing the annual network meeting for South Asia Ozone Officers from May 23 to 26, 2017 where delegates from 20 countries and industry visited the 2017 exhibition and this was the first time the Ozone2Climate Technology Roadshow was organized as a part of the annual network meeting globally.
13 South Asia network countries’ National Ozone Officers (NOOs) visited the Technology Roadshow and achieved information on state-of-the-art HCFC/HFC alternative technologies. In the Technology Roadshow, leading ozone and climate global technology providers and several industry representatives also attended.
