Nearly, 5000-gram panchayats have become open defection free (ODC) and 58.26 lakh toilets have been constructed in the state under the Clean India Mission within the time period of last three years and therefore the state is also strengthened socially.

While reviewing the programmes of Panchayati Raj, women and child development departments, ahead of the upcoming annual collector-SP conference, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje was informed by the officials of completing the construction of 58.26 lakh toilets which has helped 5000-gram panchayats to become open defection free.

However, the state has a total of 9,891-gram panchayats and therefore during the review meeting CM Raje also directed officials to personally monitor the status of implementation of the schemes to ensure that the advantage of the schemes reaches all the right beneficiaries.

Later in the meeting, CM Raje instructed officials to develop ideal anganwadis in each district and urged to identify anganwadis that are performing well and develop them as ideal institutions in each district.
