Lucknow, May 31: The Belgian envoy to India John Lucas led a delegation on Tuesday to meet the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. During the meeting Yogi apprised the visiting dignitaries that UP Government were committed to make the flow of Ganga clean and continuous under the 'Namami Gange' project and added that work was underway at a war footing to make Ganga clean before Prayag Ardh Kumbh-2019.
On this occasion, desiring the help of the Belgian Government in making Ganga clean, the Chief Minister also called for embracing new technology for this purpose. Yogi also stressed on the need of solid waste management in urban areas and said that the use of new technology could be a boon for this.
Similarly, stress was also laid on adoption of new technology for potable water and sewerage. The Belgian envoy apprised the Chief Minister about the available technology and assured that in these sectors his Government is ready to provide full cooperation to Uttar Pradesh.
Lucas also showed keen interest in the 'Smart City Project' and said that his government was all for helping in this project. He also expressed desire to work on this project in big cities like Aligarh, Allahabad, Ghaziabad and other cities.
