Shillong, May 7: On the auspicious occasion of centenary celebrations of Bharat Sevashram Sangha Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed and greeted people with warm wishes via video conferencing. Recalling his visit to Maghalaya that took place last year PM Modi addressed the celebrations.
While greeting via video conferencing PM Modi said that centenary celebrations are unique moments...on moments like this we remember the good work of the Bharat Sevashram Sangha. I am in Delhi and the programme in Shillong but we are connected due to technology. I recall my Meghalaya visit last year, he added.
Highlighting the good work carried out by Bharat Sevashram Sangha, PM Modi said that during several natural disasters, BSS teams have served people with great dedication. Their good work is widely remembered. Lauding the disciples of Swami Pranavanand, PM Modi said that Swami Pranavananda never liked social divisions and inequalities. Societal development through 'Bhakti', 'Shakti' and 'Jan Shakti' was achieved by Swami Pranavananda.
Emphsizing of his Swachta Abhiyaan PM Modi focused on conveying the message of Clean India. PM Modi said that let us work towards a Clean India and a Clean Northeast. Northeast is an integral part of the nation and hence the development of north-east too matters. PM Modi emphasized saying that in the last three years, the development of the Northeast has become a priority. Focus is on connectivity and infrastructure. We are also improving the electricity situation in the Northeast and trying to bring even more tourists to the Northeast, PM Modi added.
