Bhubaneswar, May 7: With an aim to create awareness about the climate change and similar issues, Railways have come up with a Science Express Climate Action Special (SECAS) train which will hold exhibitions at four stations under East Coast Railway (ECoR).
ECoR stated that the SECAS train will hold exhibitions at Bhadrak, Puri, Chhatrapur and Kottavalasa stations between 9th May and 23rd May.
With collaboration with the ministry of environment, forest & climate change (MoEFCC), department of biotechnology and ministry of railways, the 16-coach train is an initiative of the Centre’s department of science & technology.
The main aim of the exhibition is to create awareness among various sections of society as to how climate change can be combated through mitigation and adaptation and will convey a message about climate change and provide an opportunity to generate dialogue and discussion.
The MoEFCC developed the 8 coaches of the SECAS in the manner full of information, case studies and material related to various aspect of climate change, the underlying science, impacts, adaptation activities, mitigation solutions and policy approaches very simply that it can be understood by a school student as well as common people.
The public can have a visit to this exhibition from 10 am to 6 pm at Bhadrak Railway Station between 9th and 12th may except 10th May since it a holiday. The exhibition will open at Puri station from 13 to 16 May, at Chhatrapur between 17 and 19 May and at Kottavalasa from 20 to 23 May.
