Mumbai, June 10: India has been immersed in early showers of monsoon. North-east, South India and now South-West monsoon has been entered in some parts of Konkan, coastal Karnataka and Goa and is expected to hit Mumbai by June 13.
According to an official statement by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), monsoon expected to hit Mumbai by June 13, three days later than normal. Several parts of the state, including Mumbai, did witness pre-monsoon showers on Friday. Intermittent showers that hit Mumbai and rest of state caught people unaware in several districts of Marathwada and western Maharashtra, slightly affecting the normal life but mostly bringing relief after a sweltering summer this year.
Meanwhile, Incessant rain witnessed in Sindhudurg district of Konkan while heavy pre-monsoon rainfall disrupted normal life in Nandurbar district. The IMD has said that there is rapid advancement of monsoon and it will probably reach Mumbai by June 13-14.The conditions for a good monsoon seem to be favorable so far.
