Raipur, June 10: Nearly 3500 children and citizens on Saturday formed human chain and pledged for maintaining cleanliness and environment conservation in chattisgarh. Also, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and veteran leader Amit Shah inaugurated 'Hariyar Mor Raipur' drive in Raipur.
Under this drive, 25 thousand saplings of Peepal to be planted in capital city for 24x7 oxygen supply, with the help of people. Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and Mr. Amit Shah inaugurated this drive by planting saplings in Katora Talab area of the capital city. They planted the saplings on the circular path of city's one of the oldest pond Katora Talab.
On the occasion, Amit Shah administered pledge of making consistent efforts for maintaining cleanliness and environment conservation to people present in the programme. It is noteworthy that beautification and deepening of this pond is being done at the cost of nearly Rs 4 crore 65 lakh.

Later, Chief Minister said that beautification and deepening work of 27 ponds in capital city Raipur is underway. State Government has set the target of planting nearly eight crore saplings of various species across Chhattisgarh this year during monsoon. He called on people to actively participate in conservation of city and state's environment.
