FIFA confers Russian media the duty of Confederations Cup broadcast partner

Moscow, June 12: Before every FIFA Football World Cup, football fans worldwide eagerly wait for Confederation Cup to watch their favorite team’s form. Confederation Cup plays the role of minimized version of the world cup. Russia is hosting both the tournaments this time. FIFA signed the contract of the broadcast to host country’s media.

"We are delighted to be working with such prestigious broadcast partners to transmit the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 on free-to-air television in the host country. Together, we will share unforgettable football moments and the special atmosphere in the stadiums with millions of fans across Russia in the build-up to the 2018 FIFA World Cup," said FIFA’s Chief Commercial Officer, Philippe Le Floc’h.

The opening game of the tournament is between Russia and New Zeeland. Portugal, Mexico and New Zealand are in group A with Russia. Football giants like Germany, Chile, Australia, and Cameroon are in group B.

The Russian Media has ensured the broadcast in TV, internet, mobile, and radio. "In line with FIFA’s aims to reach the widest possible audience and to provide a high-quality viewing experience for fans, all FIFA Confederations Cup matches will be shown live on free-to-air television by Channel 1 and Match TV. Live radio transmissions will be provided by RTR.", Russian Media said in a press release.
