Mumbai, June 13 : In order to boost the vibrant tourism sector of Maharashtra in the state government today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with renowned online room rental company Airbnb for global outreach. With this agreement the global tourism giant Airbnb will portray the specialities of Maharashtra tourism across the state on its portal, to ensure more bookings.
The company will share small portion of booking revenue with the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation. On this occasion Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Tourism Minister Jaikumar Rawal and officials from Airbnb were present.
A successful startup, Airbnb has its presence in in more than 191 countries, with the facility of entire apartments, rooms and hotels, or even house boats across the world with verified online users. It has more than 1.5 million listed properties.
