Nagpur, June 14: With an aim to inspire manufacturers of Vidarbha to use Fly Ash in construction-based products, Mahagenco Ash Management Services arranged a ‘Fly Ash Utilization’ workshop in Nagpur.
The workshop was arranged at Nagpur’s Maharashtra Industrial Development Council (MIDC) conference hall.
Underlining the utility of the Fly Ash, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board regional officer Ravi Wankhede informed, “fly ash is a waste item determined when coal is burnt at thermal power stations. It's poisonous characteristics are harming to human wellbeing when its particles remain float in the air. In any case, it makes for a perfect added substance in making of bricks, paver blocks and can be utilised as a part of street developments”.
He further told that the MPCB deals with many complaints regarding fly ash when it is blown out of truck transporting it. Therefore, it is important to utilise as much of this by-product as possible. He also believes that by 2030, the country will be using 100% of fly ash in construction-related works.
Mahagams is a backup of the state-owned power generation company Mahagenco as well as manages transportation and transfer of fly ash produced in its power plants.
