Heavy Rainfall to continue in Central Maharashtra, Marathwada: IMD

Mumbai, June 14: Monsoon entering Maharashtra had spread happiness all over the state. Some parts of Central Maharashtra o Monday received heavy rain for 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday amid forecast of the storm at isolated places in the district Marathwada amid the next two days.

Rahata of central Maharashtra received 110mm of rain while Shirur received 100mm rain. In 24 hours till Tuesday morning, India Meteorological Department (IMD) data informed adequate rainfall in Indapur, Karjat, Purandar, and Saswad with each place receiving around 60mm of the shower.

Marathwada places like Hingoli, Pathri, and Parbhani had also observed with heavy rain reaching 50mm and 60mm till Tuesday Morning. If the quantum exceeds 64.5 mm, a station is considered to have received heavy rain.

It is predicted that the Central Maharashtra and Marathwada both continue to receive heavy rain till Saturday. While rainstorm may progress over the eastern parts of the nation amid the next 48 hours, at present the advance over Vidarbha may take a couple of days. Storm typically covers Vidarbha by Thursday.

On Monday, Rainstorm had covered most parts of Maharashtra, notwithstanding Vidarbha. A Met official said "Deficiency of good climate frameworks may defer the progress of storm over Vidarbha. Passing by the present model direction, the conditions may end up noticeably positive for storm restoration over the western parts of the nation, including Maharashtra, after four-five days from June 19".
