Nigeria, June 15: The number of migrants in certain areas of Africa is increasing day by day. To avoid famine, escape war, poverty a number of people are searching a new place for a better life. Niger army has rescued 92 migrants. According to an army statement, the migrants were nearing the risk of death.

The troops rescued the migrants from Northern Niger. The group was running out of water and food. Traffickers abandoned the group consisting of Woman and children. The International Organisation for Migration said one among them died in a relief center.

To reach Europe African migrants travel through the desert. Then they cross the Mediterranean Sea. Journey through the dessert is disastrous for the migrants. They run out of food and water and get stuck in trucks. The traffickers abounded this group and this is not unusual. Smugglers exploit the group.

Two weeks ago a group of 40 migrants died. Their truck broke down on their route to Libya. They died of thrust. The bodies of 34 migrants, including 20 children, were found in Sahara desert last June.

"Usually what happens in such situations is that smugglers try to exploit them," IOM head of mission Giuseppe Loprete told. "They ask for more money when they are in the middle of the desert. If they don't pay, they are abandoned.", he added.
