New Delhi, June 19: President holds the highest constitutional position in Indian democracy. The term of last President Pranab Mukherjee will be over soon. Te whole nation is now waiting to know the name of their first person. Today BJP president Amit Shah has announced the name of NDA supported the Presidential candidate. Bihar Governor Ramnath Kovind has been selected as the candidate for the upcoming presidential poll. He has been working for BJP since a long time.
Ramnath Kovind is from Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. He has reached this higher position from the ground level of backwards class. He is an enrolled advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi. He practised Delhi High Court and Supreme Court for about 16 years till 1993.
Ram Nath Kovind is a former President of the BJP Dalit Morcha (1998-2002) and President of the All-India Koli Samaj. He worked for backwards classes with the highest effort. Ram Nath Kovind will file his nomination for president on June 23, said Amit Shah.
Ram Nath Kovind served as a member of the board of management of BR Ambedkar University, Lucknow. He also served as a member of the board of governors of Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata. Kovind represented India in United Nations and addressed the UN General Assembly in October 2002.
