Mamata Banerjee, 1st Indian CM to address the Public service day of UN

Kolkata, June 19: Mamata Banerjee- the name is very powerful in Indian politics as well as she acquired a place in Forbes list of the most influential woman. Now she is about to set another record, the first Chief Minister of India to address Public Service Day of United Nations. Today she has left for Netherland.

“The Future is Now: Accelerating Public Service Innovation for Agenda 2030” is the theme of the 2017 UN Public Service Forum and the Chief Minister will be speaking on this subject. This chance has come to her due to several projects that benefitted the masses at a large scale and ensured an overall development of the state.

After coming to power, she has started several new schemes. Kanyashree, Sabuj Sathi, Yuvashree, Aloshree and Sasthya Sathi are the famous schemes in the education sector. With the blessing of local people, Kanyashree has gained international recognition. UNICEF selected it to be presented in “girl summit” 2014 in London.

Around 500 dignitaries from different countries will be present in the program when the Chief Minister addresses it. Dr. Amit Mitra, the state Commerce and Industry Minister, will be accompanying her.
